2:02 pm	monthly update Today is one year since I've posted one of these updates... So I figured it's time I put up another one... Work: Staying busy! Still covering every other weekend... Food: I am craving some Nuevo Laredo right now... mmmm..... Family: My niece, Evie, arrived last week... She's beautiful! Weather: It was beautiful all weekend while I worked! Movies: I'm tempted to take my nephew Aidan to see Lion King in theaters if no one's already called it, hehe... Romance: I've been in a relationship w/ Luis for 15 months now. I can probably change the name of this category to "Luis" hehe.... Politics: It's exciting to see liberals posting attacks against Ron Paul this time around, many of which are completely false (shows how well principled he is)... I remember in 2007, they didn't even take the time to attack him... Music: still love playing guitar... Electronics: iPhone5... please come out soon... House: It feels more like a home with Luis & the two kittens! Beer: A year ago, I was at 125 beers at the taco mac club... Now I'm up to 126! Yard: The neighbors' pit bull has found a new hobby of tearing open my trash can and throwing trash all across my driveway... When talking to the neighbor didn't fix the situation, placing my in tact garbage bags on the property line right in front of their driveway seemed to fix the problem after about a day of leaving my scattered trash in their yard courtesy of their dog! :-) Zoddy: She died 11 months ago due to a bad reaction to a vaccine... 3:09 pm	monthly update Work: Been working every other weekend... probably will continue until the nascar season is over. Food: learning some new southbeach diet friendly recipes... came up with a good one I call vegetable surprise, lol... Family: Grandma broke her hip and is in rehab now... Hoping she'll get better soon. Weather: It was beautiful this weekend while I was at Spalding's lake house. Movies: watched Event Horizon a week or so ago... it's still awesome. Romance: I've been in a relationship w/ Luis for 3 months now. Things are going really well. Politics: I wish there was a way to vote against everybody who's running for any office. Also: let them build the mosque, let the hate group burn what they want, say no to another stimulus, the tea party is a joke, Obama is aging fast, and John Boehner's name still makes me giggle. Music: Can't seem to get the Limousine's music out of my head. Electronics: my projector is pretty nice. though it limits where I can put furniture. House: The new season of House starts tonight! I still need to catch up on the old season though. Beer: I finally reached 125 different beers for the Taco Mac beer club. I love my special mug & t-shirt. I'm trying to diet now, so I probably wont' be visiting taco mac for a while. Yard: Leaves are starting to fall in the back... time to start raking. Zoddy: She's pretty upset about being left for two days while I was at the lakehouse... Especially doing it this soon after leaving her two days for dragon con. Hopefully she'll get over it. Health: Needs some improvement, but it's mostly fine. Money: 3 paycheck month is coming next month... This will hopefully get me outta debt. 10:24 am	monthly update Work: had a busy weekend, but hopefully this one won't be too bad. Food: if you've never had my famous "ridiculously good pasta"... you're missing out. Family: It's that time of year when our birthdays start coming up... Dad had one two days ago! Weather: Hot & Humid Movies: I enjoyed Julie & Julia Romance: It's hard to say... Politics: My congressman, David Scott, signed a letter supporting internet throttling. (against internet neutrality) He may have lost my vote. Music: After nearly 3 years of messing around with it, I finally got my ipod working like it should... I'm loving my music collection right now. Electronics: I just got a blu-ray player for pretty cheap... I've never seen my screen show graphics that beautifully... House: walked out the door this morning to my garage flooded with hot water... got a plumber coming and insurance adjuster should call soon. Yard: I just did the full yard fire ant treatment... and sprayed for poison oak... I think I'm winning both wars... we'll see... Zoddy: She had her 6th birthday last week... Her present was 12 packs of soft cat food with gravy... Health: Been sick, but I think i'm recovered now... Money: I have a surplus of money! we'll have to take care of that... 2:17 pm	monthly update I thought i'd try something different for this monthly update and use the same categories I used on my first update like this ever back in 2003... Which you can see here: http://beanphoner.livejournal.com/10053.html Politics: I would never vote for Obama, I disagree with what he votes for... But the character he plays on tv is amazing... Wish we had a president like that. War: still going! odd how my first update was the day before we invaded and how my mind has changed since then. I used to joke about how it'd last 10 years, though few people believed me. Love: I've got a lot to give Work: it's been pretty busy this week. Planning a new iphone app. Food: Sam made us fried lasagna on Tuesday... It was heaven in my mouth. (please no sex puns) School: Ha... Finished that over 5 years ago! Weather: It's been pretty nice lately, but I've been too busy to go out and enjoy it. Cirqe tix: Oddly enough I went to a cirque in vegas less than a month ago... before that I hadn't been since 2003. Dune: Haven't watched it since 2003, lol... Beer: I'm up to about 56 beers in my passport/brewniversity membership at taco mac... 69 more to go until I get the mug! Law: I don't like to think of laws as rules... more as suggestions. 11:19 am	monthly update Work: about to start a non-nascar project! not allowed to blog about it though... company rules... :-( Food: I made my jerk kabobs for Lost last week, and now I want more... they're heaven on a stick. Family: Getting together for the nephew's bday in a couple of weekends hopefully. Weather: Absolutely beautiful, I've been hiking like a mad man! Movies: Storytelling is always a classic. Romance: nothing serious, bah Politics: If Bobby Cox were the republican and Andre 3000 were the democrat.. Who would you vote for Governor of Georgia? Music: I'd highly recommend: MGMT, Passion Pit, Silver Sun Pickups Electronics: My iphone has taken over my life... Mood: swinging House: I replaced the main line from my water meter to my house... Had to hold back from screaming at the plumber when he doubled the price at the end.... Yard: Plumbers dug it up... I think I'll just forget about my front yard for a while & focus on the back yard. Zoddy: She's freaked out now that my grand father clock is working and chiming again. Health: physically fit and clean bill of health for now. Money: happy 3 pay check month! 2:11 pm	monthly update Work: Going slowly now, but things are going to pick up soon. Food: Every night that Lost comes on me & a group of friends meet up and eat/cook some really good food. Family: Nephew is about to turn 1. :-) Obama's War in Iraq: Still going... Weather: Rainy and almost warm! Movies: Can't say i've seen anything worth mentioning lately. Romance: made it 9 months, but recently ended... Politics: They're certainly putting on a good show for us... Music: Watched Andrew do an acoustic show at the Nest last saturday. It was fun. Electronics: I want the 55" Samsung LED tv... someone buy it for me please? Mood: see romance... House: It's getting a brand new 30-year roof tomorrow. total cost to me = $300 Yard: I haven't paid the slightest attention to it lately... Zoddy: She's actually very happy about the Romance status now that she gets her spot in the bed back. Health: Liver Biopsy showed nothing serious, just need to diet... I've lost 30 lbs since Jan 11th so guessing I'm on the right track. Money: paid off my debts (except for student loan & home mortgage) still waiting on state refund and 3 paycheck month next month! 1:45 pm	monthly update Work: After 5 months of working with NBA, I got offered a new job with Nascar where I could still keep my new position, just work for a different site. Food: Cooked some eggplant zucchini lasagna the other day. It was delicious. Family: I found pictures of the illusive Cousin Wayne and posted them on facebook! Obama's War in Iraq: Still going... over a year later. surprise surprise. Weather: Got some snow last week! I checked and my snow man is still standing this morning, though he doesn't have a head anymore. Movies: I watched an old disney movie Watcher in the Woods recently. I actually liked it. Romance: Going pretty well currently. Monday will be 9 months. Politics: Business as usual. I'll believe in the spending freeze when I see it... I'm curious to hear how Obama plans to get us a public option without spending any money except for national security. Perhaps we'll be having generals doing our checkups instead of licensed doctors. Music: Sounding pretty good on the piano right now. Guitar is feeling neglected though. Electronics: Still can't stop using the iPhone. Glad I got rid of my old blackberry. Mood: Pleasant House: It's actually clean right now... Don't expect that to last. Yard: It's looking rough from when the plumber dug it up. Zoddy: She was very upset that the seemingly dry snow ended up making her wet. Health: lost 23 lbs since new years... not too shabby. 1:41 pm	monthly update Work: New job at NBA.com has been very hectic and called for some long hours, but I get to take some vacation time this month :-) Food: Still working on perfecting my vegetable soup. I almost have it. Family: Some difficult times, but hopefully get to see them all at Christmas. Obama's War in Iraq: over 10 months & still going. Not to mention the surge in Afghanistan! He's sounding more like Bush every day! Weather: It was ridiculously cold this weekend. But no SNOW :-( Movies: Finally saw the new Star Trek, I really liked it. The whole alternate universe thing was a fun idea. Romance: It's going about the same as that of the average character on Desperate Housewives. Politics: 30 years ago, Thanksgiving day, the USSR (while in a recession) decided to pump up the war in Afghanistan, putting the final nail in their coffin. Our country seems to have a short term memory. Music: Been playing the electric guitar a good bit lately. Also learning random weird songs on piano. Electronics: I'm loving my iPhone. I'm addicted to it. Mood: see Romance section... House: Just put up a christmas tree and managed to hang a 50lb mirror on my living room wall. I'm mr. handy man this month. Yard: Finally got my leaves raked, now to put the leaves somewhere... The neighbor's yard maybe? Zoddy: She's not liking the cold weather. Sleep: I usually sleep pretty well... When work lets me. 11:24 am	monthly update Work: New job has been challenging, but I think I'm starting to catch on. Food: Cooked some delicious jalepeno corn bread last night. Family: My brother & nephew had swine flu, sister in law had bronchitis, cousin has both. Bad times. Obama's War in Iraq: 8 months & still going. Weather: The Great Flood of 2009, it was some crazy driving. Had to stay home yesterday. Movies: Haven't seen any new ones lately. Romance: Yesterday was four months. :-) Politics: Bush-era war protestors were labeled unpatriotic, Obama healthcare/tax protestors are labeled racist. Wonder if Jimmy Carter realizes he was using a recycled Bush tactic? Music: Still learning to play the drumset, I'm getting a little better. Electronics: I can't afford any right now. Mood: ups & downs House: New Season started yesterday! pretty good so far:-) Yard: Paid someone to mow it for me last week. They're supposed to come back & throw away my huge pile of branches. Zoddy: She's been pretty loud lately. Sleep: I'm sleeping well now. I got some Eclipse curtains for my bedroom thanks to Ginni's recommendation. Gets my room super dark now. Health: I had the flu for a couple of weeks, it was not very fun. But I'm pretty much recovered now. Money: maxed out my first credit card! TV: I downloaded Star Trek the original series... I'll be going from being a Web Developer for Nascar.com to a Software Developer II for NBA.com (talk about a change in consumer demographics) Food: My love for pasta will be the death of me. Family: Andrew had a concert on Friday, it was amazing. Michael had a birthday on saturday, good times! Obama's War in Iraq: Haven't been following it, but I assume it's still going on. Weather: can't make up its mind. Movies: I saw District 9 on monday night... It was awesome. Romance: Hopefully get to see him tonight :-) Politics: healthcare reform: @dems: don't pretend the public option won't cause new problems @repubs: stop making up lies about the healthcare bill, this isn't the iraq war. Music: I've got some crazy song ideas going on in my head... Just need to learn how to play them! Electronics: After 4 trips to fedex & months of complaining, I finally have a working ipod... I wonder how much Apple paid for those 8 different overnight shipments. Mood: leaving my cushy job here at Nascar for the busy one at NBA has gotten me nervous/excited/anxious. Can't wait to start it though! House: Thinking about getting a townhouse or highrise in midtown... Not sure yet though, have to weigh the pros & cons. Yard: Backyard is looking pretty nice... I got the bugs under control. Zoddy: I doubt she'll ever turn anyone into a cat person, but still cute. Sleep: I need to get some curtains/drapes for my bedroom. Sun is too bright in the morning. 2:01 pm	monthly update (just a little late) Work: I'm interviewing for a promotion in a different group on Wednesday. We'll see how it goes. Food: Trying to eat less of it. Family: Nephew Aidan started daycare yesterday and my cousin Katie is getting married in a few days. Obama's War in Iraq: Still going, Obama is spending more on wars per year than Bush ever did. He did promise change... haha Weather: hot and humid Movies: I saw the new Bruno movie. It was pretty insane! Romance: Been seeing a new guy, Luis, for a couple of months now. I'm enjoying it :-) Politics: Whats this I hear about putting a sodomizer on the supreme court? Music: Been writing some new piano songs lately. I'm liking the way they sound. Also new Muse album coming out soon! Electronics: Getting my ipod & blackberry replaced this week, electronics have been dying! My PC is doing quite well new though, I fixed it. Mood: complacent for the most part House: Had a great house party for my birthday last month. Very good times! Yard: I've got my backyard looking pretty nice now. Zoddy: Her past injuries are starting to take their toll on her, poor kitty. Sleep: The sun is coming up way too early... Health: It could use some improvement, but not too much. 2:17 pm	monthly update Work: I survived the layoffs on Tuesday... For a while I didn't know if I still had a job. Food: Grilling season is here and I'm ready to cook me some meat! Family: In the past month or so I've said goodbye to my grandfather, "Papa Charles", and hello to my new nephew, "Aidan Michael Watson"! Obama's War in Iraq: over 3 months & going. Weather: It has been beautiful lately. Aside from the occaisional "wrath of god" storm. Movies: I'm a little excited about the new Star Trek movie... was never a fan, but still looks impressive. Romance: still gay. Politics: despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage. Music: Finally did my first studio recording. I play piano in the last half... Yard: I've done a ridiculous amount of raking, chain saw work, & hedge clipping this past month. Zoddy: She hurt her front leg this past weekend, but she seems to be getting better. Sleep: Most nights are okay, but some aren't. Health: Poison Oak has been pretty miserable, I think it's almost gone now though... Money: It all went to the privacy fence... doh! Romance: It's picking up. Politics: still in Iraq, still got the patriot act, surge in afghanistan, new civilian military core, bending over for the bankers... Obama isn't just continuing the Bush legacy, he's expanding it.
