Work: New job at NBA.com has been very hectic and called for some long hours, but I get to take some vacation time this month :-)
Food: Still working on perfecting my vegetable soup. I almost have it.
Family: Some difficult times, but hopefully get to see them all at Christmas.
Obama's War in Iraq: over 10 months & still going. Not to mention the surge in Afghanistan! He's sounding more like Bush every day!
Weather: It was ridiculously cold this weekend. But no SNOW :-(
Movies: Finally saw the new Star Trek, I really liked it. The whole alternate universe thing was a fun idea.
Romance: It's going about the same as that of the average character on Desperate Housewives.
Politics: 30 years ago, Thanksgiving day, the USSR (while in a recession) decided to pump up the war in Afghanistan, putting the final nail in their coffin. Our country seems to have a short term memory.
Music: Been playing the electric guitar a good bit lately. Also learning random weird songs on piano.
Electronics: I'm loving my iPhone. I'm addicted to it.
Mood: see Romance section...
House: Just put up a christmas tree and managed to hang a 50lb mirror on my living room wall. I'm mr. handy man this month.
Yard: Finally got my leaves raked, now to put the leaves somewhere... The neighbor's yard maybe?
Zoddy: She's not liking the cold weather.
Sleep: I usually sleep pretty well... When work lets me.
Health: I need to exercise.
Money: strugglin
TV: The new V series is interesting. Hope it comes back.

Work: New job has been challenging, but I think I'm starting to catch on.
Food: Cooked some delicious jalepeno corn bread last night.
Family: My brother & nephew had swine flu, sister in law had bronchitis, cousin has both. Bad times.
Obama's War in Iraq: 8 months & still going.
Weather: The Great Flood of 2009, it was some crazy driving. Had to stay home yesterday.
Movies: Haven't seen any new ones lately.
Romance: Yesterday was four months. :-)
Politics: Bush-era war protestors were labeled unpatriotic, Obama healthcare/tax protestors are labeled racist. Wonder if Jimmy Carter realizes he was using a recycled Bush tactic?
Music: Still learning to play the drumset, I'm getting a little better.
Electronics: I can't afford any right now.
Mood: ups & downs
House: New Season started yesterday! pretty good so far:-)
Yard: Paid someone to mow it for me last week. They're supposed to come back & throw away my huge pile of branches.
Zoddy: She's been pretty loud lately.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well now. I got some Eclipse curtains for my bedroom thanks to Ginni's recommendation. Gets my room super dark now.
Health: I had the flu for a couple of weeks, it was not very fun. But I'm pretty much recovered now.
Money: maxed out my first credit card!
TV: I downloaded Star Trek the original series... Haven't seen it before, but we'll see what happens.

Work: I've accepted a new job in a different department. I'll be going from being a Web Developer for Nascar.com to a Software Developer II for NBA.com (talk about a change in consumer demographics)
Food: My love for pasta will be the death of me.
Family: Andrew had a concert on Friday, it was amazing. Michael had a birthday on saturday, good times!
Obama's War in Iraq: Haven't been following it, but I assume it's still going on.
Weather: can't make up its mind.
Movies: I saw District 9 on monday night... It was awesome.
Romance: Hopefully get to see him tonight :-)
Politics: healthcare reform: @dems: don't pretend the public option won't cause new problems @repubs: stop making up lies about the healthcare bill, this isn't the iraq war.
Music: I've got some crazy song ideas going on in my head... Just need to learn how to play them!
Electronics: After 4 trips to fedex & months of complaining, I finally have a working ipod... I wonder how much Apple paid for those 8 different overnight shipments.
Mood: leaving my cushy job here at Nascar for the busy one at NBA has gotten me nervous/excited/anxious. Can't wait to start it though!
House: Thinking about getting a townhouse or highrise in midtown... Not sure yet though, have to weigh the pros & cons.
Yard: Backyard is looking pretty nice... I got the bugs under control.
Zoddy: I doubt she'll ever turn anyone into a cat person, but still cute.
Sleep: I need to get some curtains/drapes for my bedroom. Sun is too bright in the morning.
Health: Still building up my immunity to dustmites & dogs w/ allergy shots!
Money: I'm still struggling, but the promotion should help out.
TV: Mostly Thundercats, Garifled, & Lost lately.

Movies: I saw the new Bruno movie. It was pretty insane!
Romance: Been seeing a new guy, Luis, for a couple of months now. I'm enjoying it :-)
Politics: Whats this I hear about putting a sodomizer on the supreme court?
Music: Been writing some new piano songs lately. I'm liking the way they sound. Also new Muse album coming out soon!
Electronics: Getting my ipod & blackberry replaced this week, electronics have been dying! My PC is doing quite well new though, I fixed it.
Mood: complacent for the most part
House: Had a great house party for my birthday last month. Very good times!
Yard: I've got my backyard looking pretty nice now.
Zoddy: Her past injuries are starting to take their toll on her, poor kitty.
Sleep: The sun is coming up way too early...

Weather: It has been beautiful lately. Aside from the occaisional "wrath of god" storm.
Movies: I'm a little excited about the new Star Trek movie... was never a fan, but still looks impressive.

Friends: Going to the Ren. Festival w/ Kat, Scotty and her family! Also, my friend Jay commited suicide earlier this week, memorial service is on saturday.
Movies: Saw Iron Man... i enjoyed it
Electronics: have a GPS navigator now... it has its perks & quirks. I also got a new laptop from work!
Mood: happy, calm, anxious, and a mix of others, haha (in other words... moody)
House: I have two roommates now! Newest one being my little brother, Andrew
Music: I saw the Radiohead concert earlier this month... It was fucking amazing!
Yard: I did a full yard treatment of fire ant killer earlier this week! hopefully that'll kill them off.
Zoddy: she's enjoying playing with Andrew!
Sleep: some nights are good, some nights not so much.
Health: I had hernia surgery over a month ago. It was a rough recovery, but i'm in decent shape now.

I've held back political rants for a while, but fuck it... Its my LJ so I'm gonna write in it.

Why I like Obama the most of the 3 potential presidents:

The reason I like Obama is because he's new and wouldn't be very powerful. He hasn't had much time to be corrupted by the political machine. He wouldn't be able to get past checks & balances like Bush has and like Hillary certainly would. In fact, his inexperience is one of my favorite things about him. We've seen what a powerful president can do, and the results were catastrophic.

Obama's healthcare plan cost nearly one half of what Hillary's plan would cost. He does have a lot of spending ideas that congress will probably never approve. I wouldn't call myself a huge Obama fan, but he certainly scares me the least of our 3 possible choices. The worst things people have been saying about him is his middle name and myths about his religion. When people have to make up reasons to not like a candidate, that's usually a good sign.

But he wants to end the war... That would save us 100 billion a year... His healthcare plan would cost 60 billion a year... His other
programs would probably amount to around 40 billion after the senate takes them down a notch... So honestly, we're gonna get big spending whether we vote republican or democrat. The difference is that Obama's plan would at least put the money back into OUR country instead of that of Iraq... With us hitting a recession, I think it makes more sense to spend money on our country than other countries... However, the best idea would be to let the tax payers keep their money... but that choice only got 4% of the republican
vote in the GA primaries. (RIP Ron Paul's republican ticket)

Hillary on the other hand has stood by Bush on way too many issues to even think about getting my support. From the Iraq War, FISA (NSA Domestic spying), The PATRIOT ACT, and absurd declarations against Iran's military. Not to mention she's partial to big-business lobbyists. A big-business democrat isn't that much better than a big-business republican... Plus her recent fear-mongering terrorism ad mirrored the message I've been hearing from Bush since 9/11. I used to wonder why people hated her so much... Now I know.

So I'm currently watching my cat try to attack her self cleaning litter box as it rakes through, haha. I think the litter box is winning. I'm also enjoying the start of my 4 day weekend!(We have to use up our vacation time by the end of the year, so December is usually the month with the most days off)

In other news, yesterday was a full month i've gone without having any alcohol. Just something I decided to try to do to get an idea of what sober life is like, hehe. I've also started going to martial arts class to try to get in shape. Kinda sad that I couldn't do much more than 15 pushups, haha. Last weekend I got to hang out with my friend April and my brother Andrew. We had a mexican dinner, went shopping at the mall, then watched Superbad at the dollar theater. Pretty fun time! I drank a ton of Mr. Pibb at the movie theater, so I was up till about 4:30am. I had time to hang with April till her bedtime, drive back home from Athens, then watch a horror movie before bedtime. The combo of caffeine and horror movie made for some interesting dreams that night!

In the news I was happy to read that Bush was wrong about Iran having a nuke weapon program. Pushing a war based on false information... hmmm sound familiar? That's one more reason I'm currently supporting Ron Paul for president for the upcoming primaries. I feel weird supporting a "republican" but his values are truly libertarian. He seems like the best candidate to undo the atrocities Bush has started and keep the government out of our personal lives. He's also fun to watch speak :-) He really pisses off the other republican candidates at the debates. He's the first candidate I've ever given money to, lol...if anything just to get his message out.

Enough about Ron Paul, more about me... Tomorrow night, Katheryn and Scotty are supposed to come over and help me cook dinner. (we've been hanging out and cooking a few times lately) We've figured out some pretty damn good recipes. We've also just booked our hotel room for Dragon Con 2008. I had a good time this year, so I figured I'll stay longer next year. And I heard you have to book rooms way in advanced as they fill up pretty quickly.

Love: still nothing
Work: I have a lot of days off coming soon.
Food: I went to Harry's a few days ago :-)
War: oh yeah, forgot that was still going on... vote Ron Paul! (or other anti-war candidates: kucinich, gravel, richardson)
Weather: brrrr
Beer: 23 days without alcohol and counting...
Movies: just signed up for netflix, add me as a friend if you have it too!
Electronics: just got a new cell phone, its not too shabby
House: a few rooms need to be painted
Yard: covered in leaves
Zoddy: she's still limping from her accident in May, but is quite happy about her self cleaning litter box!
Sleep: i've been going to bed way earlier than usual the past month or so...
Health: i've been taking a martial arts class for a couple of weeks now, hopefully getting in better shape :-)
Money: i'm finally investing in a 401k
TV: Weeds was awesome this season, Heroes is still entertaining.
Wally: came back to GA a few months ago, and he apparently has an amish beard now
